Establishing ESAO as Malta's first SPO operator, I am accountable (Form 4) to the board and competent authority for resourcing activities and leading the business in support of its strategic priorities

Reporting to the group board, I am responsible for setting and enacting the company vision, strategic priorities and corporate governance

As a group senior leader, I was responsible for establishing ESAO's principal place of business in Malta

Reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for providing direction to the Management Systems department, maintaining oversight on Compliance, Safety, and Quality disciplines; and project managing implementation of new and emerging business lines (incl. dangerous goods, ISR, surveys, etc).I also served in an advisory capacity for dangerous goods to ensure that any operations were conducted safely and in compliance with the regulations.I was also instrumental in project managing the development of the company's operational fleet capability.

Accepted by the CAA and reportable to the Accountable Manager, I was responsible for:- the content and amendment of the Quality & Safety Management Manuals- developing and maintaining an effective management system, acceptable to both flight operations and maintenance activities- ensuring that the policies of the management manuals are put into effect and that required audits are carried out along with meetings convened- ensuring that interfacing organisations have an appropriate management system, methodology, approach that they use and maintainAs the Dangerous Goods Nominated Person (CAT 6), I was responsible for:- oversight and control of the carriage of dangerous goods- provision of initial and recurrent dangerous goods awareness training to all staff- ensuring all necessary permissions, approvals and exemptions are held- generation of relevant procedures- responding to queries regarding the carriage of dangerous goods- project managing transcontinental revenue sorties; and- acceptance procedures for dangerous goods are carried out.As part of my succession plan, I trained and mentored two members of staff to be acceptable to the UK CAA (Compliance and dangerous goods).

As a temporary function to support the business, I held the position as Head of Ground Operations and as such reporting to the Accountable Manager, I was responsible for:a) The efficiency of the Ground Operations Department and the supervision of its staffb) Training of Ground Operations staffc) Ensuring the feasibility of planned flightsd) The obtaining of diplomatic clearancese) Supervision and arrangement of away from base ground handling and accommodationf) Ensuring crew were dispatched with the correct aeronautical charts and information for the planned area of operationg) Checking planned aerodrome categorisation and that category B and C aerodrome briefs were made available to the commanderh) Preparation of flight programmes and scheduling of aircrew and aeroplanesi) Ensuring that the requirements of the Company Flight and Duty Times Limitations Scheme were met

Supporting the Captain in the safe and economic operation of flight. Worked as a team in the preparation of documents, catering, fuelling, baggage loading, passenger assisting.During each flight and when appropriate, I would provide service to the client, consisting of offering refreshments, giving them an update of the flight, weather conditions, ETA at destination, etc. Finally I would wish them a comfortable remainder of their flight and thank them for joining us.All of the above alongside representing a brand image, whether in uniform or not.
