During my time here, I extensively modeled products on SolidWorks and created technical drawings for reference and machine shop fabrication. Occasional assistance was provided in the shop, performing machining operations on the manual Lathe, Mill and a wide variety of shop tools. When appropriate, I assisted with communicating with clients and provided design support. Technical support partially included maintaining computers and electronics in the office and shop, along with the Google Apps account. I also designed parts for our 3D printer and helped with providing much of the maintenance. The 3-D printer employed was a Makerbot Replicator Revision 1.0.

I began work at Battelle Memorial Institute during my senior year in high school as a student intern and left as a Student Technician 2 after about two and a half years. While at Battelle, I provided SolidWorks design support and lab cleanup services. At Battelle, I designed and created objects and devices for laboratory projects. I communicated with Physicists, engineers and machinists on a regular basis and was part of design teams. One of my tasks was to communicate with administrators to replenish depleted electrical components. Additionally, services were provided to colleagues with preparing equipment for excess, shipping and unpacking. Projects: In one project, I designed and built a mobile pivoting tripod for a 75lb germanium detector with brass and lead shielding. While at Battelle, I also designed and constructed a 4ft x 8ft x 3 ft tall testing platform to test the radiation permittivity of various shielding materials in different locations and distances from the source. This particular project involved a custom machined tungsten collimator with a radiation probe and a sliding BOSCH tripod with varying height adjustment capability.
