Luke is a veteran investor and an award winning social entrepreneur with 20+ years experience. He began his career on Wall Street as a VP of Investments for JP Morgan Chase (their youngest VP at that time, at 23). Then in 2009 he cofounded a venture capital company that provided seed and Series A funding to tech companies in the healthcare, education and consumer goods spaces. In 2014 Luke also cofounded and funded a startup incubator aimed at helping early stage businesses scale and attract growth capital; with an emphasis on companies founded by underserved entrepreneurs. In 2016 he was named Ohio Business Person of The Year by The Ohio State University (where he has been a regular guest lecturer at their Fischer College of Business). He is also an investor and board member in Small Business Owners of America, which was named the 6th Fastest Growing Company in America by Inc Magazine in 2017. Luke studied Marketing and Finance at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and is a regular keynote speaker and lecturer (400+ events) at universities, business and non-profit seminars worldwide, speaking on a variety of subjects including entrepreneurship, social ventures and effective advocacy. He is heavily involved in philanthropic endeavors and serves on the Board of Trustees for several dynamic non-profit organizations. He also established Luke Westerman Charities (www.lukewesterman.org) in order to facilitate greater support for the causes near and dear to him and his family. Luke actively coaches and advises dynamic entrepreneurs (with an emphasis on women and minority business owners), and is currently working on utilizing various AI technologies to help companies achieve accelerated growth and efficiencies. Luke and his partner currently reside in Houston, Texas along with their 15 year old hurricane rescue dog, Franky.
