GreetBeatz was a tech startup that let people gift personalized hip hop songs to their friends over social networks. ------------People would feed me info about their friends, give a reason for celebration, and I'd go and make a beat, write, record, and mix down a personalized song from scratch. The process ridiculously cheapened music, but I was just thrilled to create shit as a rapper/producer on the company's roster of artists.It also marked the first time I made money through my music, a lifelong dream I'd had since the moment I picked up a mic as a goofy 14-year-old.
