About Alexander Lukin
Dr Alexander Lukin is a preeminent researcher in the field of energetic materials, solid propellant combustion and low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials. He currently serves as the principal research scientist and executive director at the Western-Caucasus Research Center in the Western Caucasus region of Russia.Dr Lukin holds expert positions with the Russian Academy of Sciences, Federal Register of Experts under the Russian Ministry of Education and Science (Space and Transport Systems), and is an Honorary Fellow at the Australian Institute of High Energetic Materials. He is an Associate Fellow and Lifetime Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), serving on several committees including the Solid Rockets Technical Committee and the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space Working Group. Globally, he holds advisory roles at institutions like Donghua University's State Key Lab in Shanghai, Shaanxi Research Institute, and Northwestern Polytechnic University in China. He isa Lifetime Member of India's High Energy Materials Society and the Russian Combustion Institute Section. Demonstrating his scientific eminence, Dr. Lukin serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals including Defense Science Journal (India), Defense Technology Journal, International Journal of Aeronautical Science & Aerospace Research, and the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology Editorial Advisory Board on Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.Dr. Lukin has over 35 years of experience in rocket propulsion engineering and physics. He holds an M.S. in Rocket Propulsion Engineering and a Ph.D. in Physics & Mathematics. Dr. Lukin's research has focused on combustion instability in solid propulsion systems. He has made significant contributions to the development of next-generation controllable solid propulsion systems. He has also developed a nanotechnology-driven approach to significantly enhance the energy release efficiency of nanoenergetic materials. Dr. Lukin's work has been published in numerous book chapters, journal articles, and conference proceedings.

About the FoundationRussian Science Foundation was established on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation to support basic research and development of leading research teams in different fields of science. Legal status, powers, functions, proprietary rights and governance of the Foundation are determined by the Federal Law "On the Russian Science Foundation and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation."To achieve its goals, the Foundation selects science and technology programs and projects that fall under certain propriety categories, and does so on a competitive basis. Among these priorities are basic research initiatives by research groups or individual scientists, or members of the higher education teaching staff; development of scientific organizations and institutions of higher education, creation of world-class departments and laboratories in scientific organizations and educational institutions, development of experimental facilities for scientific research.The governance structure of the Foundation is set up by the Federal Law: Supervisory Board, Management board and Director General. The Federal Law sets out a procedure for formation of these bodies as well as defines their authority. In order to provide the Foundation with the necessary expertise, the Federal law provides for creation of Review Panels acting as advisory bodies of the Foundation. Control over financial and economic activities of the Foundation is exercised by the Audit Committee of the Foundation. In accordance with the Federal Law, Russian Science Foundation submits the annual report for consideration of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation.
