Luma is an innovative, driven, compassionate and caring woman with a mission to effect positive change in the health of Jordan's population.Her motivation stems from a single moment – standing in a clinic hearing a doctor diagnose her son Suhail with autism then tell her there was no way to rehabilitate him. She promised herself to do everything in her power to fight that statement. She left the world of design and began to research deeply into organic food and the effects of toxicity on the brain. She cleaned her kitchen and changed her family's diet and lifestyle, and Suhail reacted positively, and with the help of many other professionals and family support, Suhail flourished.Luma founded Juthour in 2005 to provide the community with organic, natural & specialty food products… to make a difference in the lives of people through educating them, and providing them with the tools needed towards living a sustainable life, to improve their overall health, and let them know they do have a choice in life… their choice. Watching her business grow and seeing how it has changed people’s lives has been a beautiful journey. And today, her son Suhail has graduated from Emily Carr University in Vancouver-Canada and is realizing his own dreams.Luma was also on the advisory board for the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program at Invest Bank in Jordan, and on the board of ‘The Star Project’, a nonprofit organization providing services for children under the spectrum of Autism (ASD) in Amman-Jordan.
