In this role, I provide critical strategic vision to the creation, execution, and evaluation of on- and off- campus strategic partnerships that support and enhance the work of Student Orientation Programs. I also provide essential work to develop, execute, and evaluate revenue-generating opportunities such as merchandise and consumer experiences, event and program sponsorships, and community partnerships on behalf of the department.

Within this role, I served as a creative coordinator on the creative team that helped to develop the concept, design, and experience for the University of Oregon's Student Welcome Center, which serves as the focal point for campus visits for the university. After working on this project for two year, I was then tasked to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and assessment of the center to determine intentional long-term developments and installations that provide memorable experiences for the over 30,000 visitors of the center. In order to facilitate this work, in addition to event operations for the department's large-scale events and programs, I worked to develop and grow a hospitality and event operations team, known as O-Crew, who specialize in providing quality customer service, while executing operations efficiently and effectively as a team.

My role as Student Director for the University of Oregon’s Student Orientation Programs allowed me to help create an interactive and informational program for both incoming students and their families and supporters. Our team’s goal was to continue to enhance the student experience with developing new and exciting ways that show students of different identities and backgrounds the amazing opportunities that the university has to offer.My role allowed me to work with multiple campus departments and partners to strategize and critically think about new workshops, interest sessions and tabling opportunities to better inform students and their families during their orientation session. These strategy sessions help my team and I create the two-day schedule for nine on-campus programs, which welcomed on average 900 students and guests per session, and four off-campus orientation sessions, which welcomes about 60 students and guests per session in four different states. I managed a team of six Student Coordinators that ran the communications logistics, staff management, and event management pieces of the program. My goal as their manager was to not only make sure we all continue to work towards the needs of the students and their families, but also make sure I could support them in their professional development along the way through special projects and workshops.

While being the Student Coordinator for Event Management, I was able to enhance the “look and feel” of the new student experience for all nine two-day programs that were on the university campus and three off-campus orientation programs in Hawaii, Chicago and Washington D.C. I worked closely with multiple event and production third party companies to find the best event elements that helped create the University of Oregon look for the program, while staying in budget. The other part of my role allowed me to work on programming pieces of the orientation sessions, such as an information and student services fair with 50 campus departments tabling, and creating interest sessions that led to a campus-wide scavenger hunt.

As Student Director for the University of Oregon’s Ambassador Program, I helped in supervising 60 Student Ambassador to coordinate the day-to-day operations of campus visits and events for over 40,000 visitors. While working closely with both the Director and Assistant Director of the program, our team educated all of the Student Ambassadors with the necessary knowledge for the 90-minute campus tour, while helping them develop their “voice” to make their tours personal and authentic to the student experience.I was also able to help work on new initiatives to help create major specific tours for Music, Education and STEM majors through planning and coordinating the logistics and operations of the tours. This allowed the program to give students who are interested in these fields of study to better immerse themselves in the facilities and subjects they may practice at the UO.

As a Student Ambassador, I guided prospective students and guests on campus tours as well as be a representative of the university. During this role, I efficiently worked with 35 other Student Ambassadors on tours and information sessions to give students and their families information and stories that help them connect with the UO experience. This meant that I needed to provide accurate information and refer guests to the correct location and departments. While in this role, I worked also as a Multicultural Recruiter to help students of all backgrounds, including students of colors, show and understand the possibility of higher education.

I help to develop marketing and basic group skills while managing a $4,000 programming budget in a team setting. In order to better create develop these strategies, My team and I interviewed professors and peers to understand efficient ways of studying and learning styles for students. This research allowed us to plan multiple events for first-year students and advertise the new Academic Residential Community that the College of Business was offering incoming first-year students.

As VP of Alumni Relations, I work towards finding ways to connect our membership of 80 to alumni across the U.S., based on the member's job interests. While in my role, I also kept alumni updated on what our membership was up to through a quarterly newsletters that also let them know about upcoming events that I planned for members and alumni to network with each other.

During my internship with Current Affairs Hawaii, I was able to work closely with the event and operations teams to understand how to plan and execute event logistics. From being an assistant to the Event Manager to then changing clothes to now be the event server for the same event, my role taught me how to multi-task during an event, and even during multiple events happening on the same day. Through this internship, I gained the understanding of how important it is to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with your company partners and vendors, the event operations team and the clients. In addition, I learned that putting in the hard work to create timelines and event forms to organize an event, allows for you and your team to create a wonderful product to share with your client and their guests.

My role as Philanthropy Chair gave me the opportunity to understand how to plan multiple fundraisers to lead up to our signature fundraiser event, which raised about $1300 for Special Olympics Oregon. I oversaw a committee of seven members to plan and execute these events and help create teams within our fraternity to keep everyone in the fraternity involved with our philanthropy efforts.

As Chaplain of the fraternity, I assured that all members stayed on track with the philosophies and goals of the fraternity. I also was able to plan all brotherhood events and teachings for 40 members to make sure that our fraternity continued to stay connected and develop as a brotherhood.

During my junior year of college, I had the great opportunity to be a part of the Disney College Program at the Disneyland Resort. In my role at the Disneyland Resort, I was able to provide high quality dining service and strong guest interactions in the food and beverage department. From making burgers and fries to entertaining guests while they wait for their food, my goal was to continue to give the excellent guest service that many guests that come to the parks expect.Through strong problem solving and decision making skills in both serving guests and helping with the operations of the restaurant, I earned multiple recognition awards for my high performance in safety, courtesy and efficiency. This program allowed me to understand what it means to work for a large Fortune 500 company and what it takes to be a strong team member.
