Lecturer in Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at Dundalk Institute of TechnologyAs a Lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at Dundalk Institute of Technology, I am committed to advancing engineering education through innovative teaching and curriculum development. I actively contribute to designing and developing new modules and programs that address emerging trends and technologies in the field, equipping students with the skills needed for the evolving engineering landscape. My role also involves mentoring students, engaging in collaborative research, and fostering an environment that bridges academic learning with industry applications.

Developed and carried out experimental testing utilising Solidworks, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Whilte Light Interferometry. Exploited cold spray additive manufacturing to: (i) develop boiling enhanced surface coatings (ii) develop high thermal conductivity composites & (iii) negate the need for thermal interface materials between silicon wafers and heat spreaders.

Based in the Building Energy Research group within the Civil Engineering Department at Loughborough University I worked with TATA Steel Tubes in developing BISPA (Building and Industrial Services Pipework Academy, www.bispa.org) an educational platform to offer TATA a pathway to engage directly with the end users of their steel tube products by educating steel tube users about the science and best practice associated with their product. The project involved the design and development of experimental facilities and associated teaching material.

Woking in the Rolls Royce University Technology Centre based in the Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering Department at Loughborough University I preformed simulations using CFD software (Ansys Fluent/Star CCM+) and Matlab to understand thermal fluid flow of components of a Jet Engine. Simulations where validated through the construction of experimental test facilities. Testing involved the use of 3D printed specimens, transient liquid crystal thermography, labview and matlab.
