Improving the Internet bit by bit, protocol by protocol.I've been working with the Internet, in one form or another for the lions share (ten years) of my professional career and have an interest in it that extend beyond that of my profession. In short, I'm an Internet evangelist with my primary area of expertise within design of large scale networks. I am very interested in both the bits and pieces that make up a router as well as how routers function and interact together in large networks.Through the years I have dealt not only with network architecture but also touched upon support systems, from the occasional Python hack to solve issues of the day to behemoth sized systems, I've worked with the financial side, putting together cost allocations, writing budgets and prognoses and so forth. Every now and then I have assisted in customer cases to win large accounts. I have experience in nearly all facets of running a large network provider.Specialties: Large scale network design, hacking together useful support systems in Python, quick and dirty things you don't learn through your CCIE course. Thorough understanding of DWDM systems, so everything from duct to MPLS header is my area.
