And yet, Singleton is here to share history and experiences that supersede these narratives of doom and gloom. Existence in a place they refer to as ‘the Queer’s Queer’ empowered them to be a fact seeker and truth-teller. His story is purposefully raw and vulnerable, mixed with hilarity and joy, as only he can tell it.Rhetoric of the Rainbow: Living Between the Gay Movement & Civil RightsIn the early 2000s, LuSter disclosed their long-time struggle with finding a place of belonging within the so-called “gay movement” and the civil rights movement. With both having supported or encouraged notions of gender binaries, misogyny, transphobia, and racial fetishization, Singleton found it difficult to get fully ‘settled’ in either camp. Singleton shares this history to engage discussions on cancel culture, Black Lives Matter, and disappearing lesbian visibility and asks whether history is repeating itself.

Community Outreach Coordinator● Develop and facilitate an outreach strategy using CDC Promise Intervention curriculum.● Inform community, specifically 13-29 year old Trans/gender non-conforming/Non-binary clients about what services, programs and opportunities MOZAIC offers the community.● Help link the TGNCBB community to competent health care.● Network with Columbus Public Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital THRIVE program and Kaleidoscope Youth Center●Manage site visits, space reservations and volunteer teams● Be a liaison between community and County HIV/STI intervention/prevention programs.● Oversee the management of the building: schedule building repairs andmaintenance in coordination with the trustees. Oversee mowing and signage.● Supervise interns, Youth Advisory Council and Peer Mentors.

● Develop and facilitate an outreach strategy to reach all ages in our community.● Discuss what services, programs and opportunities Summit offers with the community.● Help recruit children for after school programming.● Network with the OSU Campus and surrounding neighborhoods along with the Assoc. Minister● Equip laity to do outreach with campus, youth and families along with the Assoc. Minister● Work with Associate Minister, Lay Leadership Team, UAEA and OSA to connect people and programming.● Give building tours● Coordinate transportation ministry.● Served as Program Director for the University District Freedom School (responsibilites / details upon request )● Help schedule groups who use the building.● Welcome and interact with visitors.● Manage the outreach budget and help diminish overhead for the church.● Be a liaison between Freedom School, Summit and the community.● Oversee the management of the building: schedule building repairs and maintenance in coordination with the trustees. Oversee mowing and signage.● Supervise the office aides and custodian.● Participate in at least one professional or personal development activity yearly. The financing for this activity may be aided by the church by working through staff parish relations committee and the lead pastor.● Attend weekly staff meeting, staff retreats, and additional planning meetings or events asdetermined by the lead pastor.
