Due to my success within the Safety and Security Assistant position, I was promoted to a new position with expanded responsibilities. I serve as a key player in conceptualizing and implementing ongoing state-mandated training programs and curriculum for security personnel, compliant with Code of Virginia and Virginia Administrative Code. I monitor and evaluate security procedures ongoing, continually focused on identifying areas for improvements. To ensure student and staff safety, I coordinate complex exercises for the systemwide crisis plan and Leadership team. Drawing on my strong collaborative skills, I serve as liaison between the school and county, state, and federal emergency management programs. In recognizing the important role the district plays within the community, I attend county emergency management coordination committee, delivering school input.

Within this role, I was successful in executing intentional actions and planning to ensure the safety and security for 2,100+ high school students. I followed and enforced school district protocols related to creating an environment free of tobacco, alcohol, weapons, and drugs. Carrying out my passion for creating safe, welcoming, and productive environments, I engaged with teachers, staff, and students to build connections across the school. I collaborated with school administration and teachers for monitoring students’ activities, behaviors, and attendance, and taking corrective action as needed. I embraced an approach that focused on building trusting relationships with students focused on self-respect and respect for others, which assisted in reducing and eliminating conduct issues. Additionally, I attended community events and court hearings as needed in relation to student safety and conduct concerns.

Drawing on 30+ years of experience, I administered the integration and synchronization for Law Enforcement and Security activities, to coordinate military to civilian law enforcement to combat transnational threats. Furthermore, I served as a liaison to contribute to Joint Task Forces and foreign nations’ representatives within the National Capitol Region, in support of crisis management plans, operations, and exercises. I integrated within and collaborated across internal departments, levels, and external agencies to support and foster our relationship with law enforcement. I also coordinated secure and efficient information exchanges as needed for interagency law enforcement and security contracts.

Incorporating my leadership skills and success within the organization, I guided the technical direction, design, implementation, and testing in alignment with project objectives and compliance with company guidelines. Further, I organized and monitored resources related to project assignments, including coaching and training staff. I collaborated ongoing with Human Resources to aid in preparing performance reviews and handling disciplinary actions.

Utilizing my extensive experience of the secret service and government knowledge, I served as the liason between the US Coast Guard and Secret Service. The purpose of the role was to support the coordination of National Special Security Events (NSSE) and additional protective missions. A key accomplishment within this role, due to my unique skill set and personality, was being appointed as the United States Coast Guard representative for NSSE Working Group and Department of Homeland Security Special Event Working Group. Additionally, I directed advanced training for USCG Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism Program, ensuring compliance with all mandates.

Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge • Managed the US Secret Service Control Tactics Section, which included 15 staff.• Conducted basic, in-service and advanced training programs, staff development, and created efficient work procedures and methods. • Developed and supervised the curriculum of the Control Tactics Section. Operations Agent • Supervised the Operations Section of the Dignitary Protective Division, coordinating the logistics for all visits by foreign Heads of State & Government to the U.S.Program Manager • Managed the Special Operations Training Section (SOTS) including a 10 instructor staff. • Oversaw the conduct of operational, in-service and advanced tactical protection training programs; equipment trials; performance evaluations; staff development; work efficiencies; disciplinary actions; and overall strategic training management and resource planning• Planned and managed the $500,000 plus annual SOTS operations' budget.• Supervised and facilitated curriculum development of the Special Operations Training Section staff utilizing recognized education methods and wide range of domain specific subject matter authorities throughout government, military, and industry.• Functioned as liaison between the US Secret Service James J. Rowley Training Center and the Counter Assault Teams with federal, state, and local law enforcement, USSOCOM and the intelligence community.Protective Operations Agent• Performed all duties required for planning and executing protective details for the National Security Advisor • Operated as member of the Protective Advance team for Vice President George Bush's 1988 election campaign. • Participated as a Member of the Protective Intelligence Team for the 1984 Republican National Convention.Special Agent• Conducted complex investigations including: case agent, acted in undercover capacity, conducted surveillances, provided expert witness testimony, and presented cases to the US Attorney.

•Managed the 1st Marine Division's three primary marksmanship schools as part of the Marksmanship Training Unit, responsible for supervising a staff of twelve military instructors and hundreds of military students annually.I was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1978, serving nine successful years of reserve and active military duty.
