As part of the Senior Management Team, I oversee digital campaigns, supporter engagement, Comms and digital fundraising for Europe. We support and guide country teams in the UK, France and Germany as well as coordinate public engagement around European/ EU level campaigns together with supporting global campaigns and cross-regional work.

Waterbear is an interactive video platform dedicated to supporting life on our fragile planet through world-class storytelling, cutting-edge technology and a global network of partners working together for impact. I led the Impact Department, which was responsible for non-profit partnerships, impact strategies and action campaigns that were developed alongside the production of short films - often for clients including Luminate, Nikon and Natura & Co. Created and coordinated the public engagement campaign for the Oscar winning Netflix documentary “My Octopus Teacher” (produced by the parent company of WaterBear).

Advised socially progressive companies on environmental issues and public engagement campaigns.

Created and supported campaigns with partner NGOs on issues including aquaculture, climate litigation, river protection and deep sea oil drilling. Represented Patagonia at public events, expanded the company's environmental network across Europe and carried out research in order to recommend company positions and actions such as joining the global climate strikes.Highlights:- Developed and led a campaign alongside the documentary ‘Artifishal’ about the impacts of aquaculture, with impact in two target countries. Organised and moderated speakers and panel discussions at key screenings and supported a press tour in Iceland. - Co-led the European part of the campaign “Fight for the Bight” against Norway’s largest oil company Equinor, which plans to drill in the Great Australian Bight. - Supported the progress of the Blue Heart campaign to protect Europe’s last wild rivers. - Developed a vision for how Patagonia can support regenerative agriculture in Europe.- Trained staff from across Europe in campaign strategy and provided support for national campaign activities. - Co-created and led an action that drew over 400 British MPs to collect a native tree and pledge to support reforesting on a massive scale (secondment with Extinction Rebellion).

Developed and led global campaigns on multiple issues including climate change, oceans, human rights and agriculture. Line managed several staff and lead the social media team.Highlights:- Initiated and led a successful campaign to push the world’s biggest reinsurance company to stop investing in and insuring coal.- Developed and coordinated campaigns for marine sanctuaries including the Ross Sea, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Lewis Pugh (UN Oceans Patron). - Initiated a campaign to protect 30% of our oceans by 2030 and coordinated petition deliveries, with Richard Branson at the UNGA and the IUCN. - Initiated and led a campaign that helped save pristine rainforest in Sumatra. - Led campaigns to stop the slaughter of endangered whales in Iceland. - Developed a campaign to protect half the planet by 2050.- Led a campaign against Monsanto’s glyphosate and worked within a coalition of NGOs calling for a ban. Delivered the fastest growing European Citizens’ Initiative to the EU Commission with a speech on behalf of the Avaaz community.- Initiated and led a campaign against Female Genital Mutilation. Delivered 1.3 million signatures to the Prime Minister of Somalia who also signed the petition. - Initiated a partnership with the Women’s March Amsterdam + wrote and produced a viral video that reached 5 million views ahead of the Dutch election.

Created and managed digital communications and mobilisation projects for international campaigns relating to oceans, agriculture, forests, climate change and toxic pollution - often with over 25 national and regional offices and sometimes on Greenpeace ships.

On board web editor and diving instructor for the Pacific Defending Our Oceans Tour, on the Greenpeace ship Esperanza. This was a six week tour in the Central and Western Pacific - monitoring and engaging with illegal fishing vessels.

Bermuda

Coordinated various grass roots environmental campaigns in Bermuda to save open spaces and protect the environment. Started campaigning independently as an activist and then set up a new NGO with members of the community in 2007. Planned and coordinated public engagement activities online and offline.We organised two very successful campaigns that protected large, pristine green open spaces from development - including Bermuda's Botanical Garden. BEST is still going strong.

Planned and coordinated an international project for the Greenpeace whales campaign called "The Great Whale Trail". Involved working with scientists who were satellite tagging humpback whales in the Pacific and creating ways for the public to engage with the work online.

Worked on many projects for the Greenpeace International Oceans Unit. Assisted with the Defending Our Oceans ship tour, carried out research on issues such as oil spills and prepared reports for campaigners to use. Responded to public inquiries about our oceans campaign. Personally responsible for getting Amazon.com to remove sharkfin soup from their website via direct communication with their staff over the phone and with letters. Towards the end of this internship, I laid the foundations for a collaboration with leading whale biologists on a project, which I was then hired to coordinate.

Web editor for two Greenpeace ship tours: four weeks in Iceland as the blogger on board the Arctic Sunrise, a Greenpeace ship, campaigning on whaling and climate change; six weeks on the Esperanza for the Deep Sea Defenders Tour on the Grand Banks - campaigning against bottom trawling.

Volunteered to blog for a media bus tour of agricultural communities in China's Yunnan province - supporting sustainable rice production and raising awareness about the risks of genetically engineered rice in China.

Studied the ecology of a critically endangered species of lizard (the Bermuda skink) and assisted with various other conservation projects in Bermuda including the monitoring of coral reefs, endangered sea birds and turtles -- and the restoration of native and endemic plants.

Volunteer research assistant during a scientific expedition in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia - satellite tagging critically endangered northern right whales -- with leading whale biologists Dr. Phil Clapham and Dr. Bruce Mate.
