Inaugural chief audit executive of America's first all-digital nationally chartered U.S. consumer techbank. Architected and built the audit function from the ground up and scaled it as the company grew.I ensured company controls, effective risk management practices and adequate governance for this pre-IPO Unicorn, digital full-service, consumer FinTech organization. I assessed regulatory compliance and internal controls over financial reporting. I also integrated control and risk concepts into company planning and education. Additionally, I managed a 6-member team and co-source vendors to achieve business objectives within a startup environment. I coordinated the Audit & Risk Committee, report to the Board and provided independent assurance.

I led the strategic direction of this government sponsored, 3-state Bank’s risk management functions, including Enterprise Risk, Credit & Collateral Management, Market Risk, Compliance, Information Security and Operational Risk. I served as the primary point of contact to the Federal Housing Finance Agency and managed a 55-member team. I also proactively analyzed risk matters to avoid a negative impact on operations and financial performance. I ensured preservation of capital and minimization of loss. I partnered with divisional leadership to manage local risk and delivered thought leadership to members and the system on risk, FinTech, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

I advised the senior leadership and the Board of this global Computer Data Storage Systems provider on Risk Management practices, governance, processes and controls throughout a period of major transformation. I led the global team that spanned the U.S., U.K., Poland and Malaysia. I also collaborated with the parent company leadership in Japan to develop a global audit strategy. I served as member of Finance Leadership Team steering a global finance function of 500+ professionals.Additionally, I:• Facilitated the business transformation from traditional storage hardware sales to SaaS, IoT and Big Data solutions by modernizing the Risk Management function and team structure.• Scaled and optimized the Audit function with the implementation of data analytics for Channel Sales, Procurement and Travel Expenses.• Integrated Cyber Threat and Information Security into the business continuity program and updated Crisis Management to align with current best practices and escalating customer and regulator expectations.• Transitioned staff from Poland and Malaysia to support the company’s Shared Services Center and Centers of Excellence strategy, enabling the U.S. and Europe-based Audit talent to support key transformation projects.

At a critical time, I came in to restructure and deliver on the internal audit strategy of the company's capital management under the complex regulatory framework of the US Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review, Dodd-Frank Act Stress Tests, and Basel capital reform. I was the primary point of contact to the Federal Reserve Board of San Francisco, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on the audit coverage of capital planning and analysis. I led a team of 25 subject matter experts and achieved audit coverage of capital management at the trillion+ plus asset size financial institution through a matrix organization of 80 professionals. I served as a member of the Audit Management Committee to steer the function of of 600+ professionals.

Turned around a bank under distress and regulatory enforcement actions through to a successful capital raise and progress under the regulatory consent orders. Led the risk, compliance, audit and credit review functions of this commercial real estate community bank with branches in San Francisco, Hawaii and Xiamen, China. I managed the regulatory relations with three agencies and collaborated closely with external regulatory counsel on the interpretation and application of specialized rules and regulations. I reported independently to the Board Compliance and Audit Committees and served as the Information Security Officer.
