I'm someone with a very broad broad range of interests and thus draw from a kaleidoscope of experiences and skills. Before I made Amsterdam my home and learned to speak Dutch fluently I was trained as editor for a local newspaper (Weilheimer Tagblatt/ Münchner Merkur) in Bavaria, Germany. For some time after that I contnued to work as freelancer journalist. And because l've always loved music and to dance I also worked as a dancing instructor in my home town, before I decided to study (sustainable) tourism in Amsterdam. During one of my first jobs in Amsterdam as a sales specialist at Apple I got to explore the tech world and until not so long ago I managed a vintage fashion store, embracing my passion for sustainable retail. My academic journey led me into sustainable tourism management and development, placemaking, and design thinking, where I've contributed to projects that also blended urban planning, tech, nature, and human connection. At Inholland University, I managed digital content and contributed to research projects with social design and sustainability in their focus.For my master’s thesis, I researched how nature-based tourism experiences can support the healing of parents who have lost a child, a topic close to my heart as I also lost someone very dear to me, occasionally write about grief and am convinced that it is a topic we should talk about more openly. I'm also an advocate for the arts and mental & physical health and believe that much work needs to be done in this world to change things to the better but that it is achievable if we use our collective intelligence.
