About Lisa M. Walther

In life, one of our greatest gifts to others is the ability to give back and pay it forward so others can achieve their personal dreams and aspirations. As a seasoned higher education administrator, I have had the privilege to serve in this capacity for others for many years. I am proud of my record of service and it is what drives me everyday to eagerly apply my skills, talents and abilities to help others navigate their educational journeys. I know firsthand, as a first generation in college student myself, the transformational power education has to improve lives and generations of families for the better. Education is the path to self-actualization as it really makes us a more complete version of ourselves. With this ever-present in my mind, I have labored everyday to establish a legacy of service and the results that attest to this. In addition to having established a professional track record of creating, implementing and assessing innovative student programming that achieve desired outcomes, I have inspired those around me to do the same and deliver with intention and true passion. These are key highlights:*Palm Beach State College - Oversee implementation of Department of Education Title V grant that aims to improve student success, retention and graduation rates for Hispanic and low-income students.*NSU - Led innovative supplemental instruction program from 3 courses to over 35+ disciplines to date. Collaborated across university to ensure partnerships and buy-in from all relevant stakeholders. *NSU - Developed Razor's Edge - Shark Teach initiative for select education majors. Crafted a new course and its curriculum (RAZT 1050); taught the course that aimed to train this group as campus peer educators.*FIU - Managed institutional scholarship program (Invitational Scholars) delivering comprehensive student services with an average 95% retention rate of all participants in the program.Beyond these accomplishments, what I cherish most are the expressions of gratitude from my former students who have graduated and are now professionals in their chosen fields; this serves as the impetus that inspires me to continue with the work I now I was meant to do.StrengthsFinder Top 5: Strategic, Maximizer, Arranger, Individualization, Futuristic
