My background has a solid footing within both hard and soft sciences, leaving me well-rounded in the field of horticulture, where strong social skills are a benefit when items are marketed and sold. From operating a small business and working within a large corporation, I have the experience and know the importance of building relationships with local & regional participants in the green industry. With numerous experiences working with large and small volunteer groups to accomplish project goals and training participants along the way. This requires a leader, and I am not afraid to make decisions, drive people to achieve and uplift them along the way for a fair and fun work environment. Achieving an entire transformation on a property is achieved through years of experience in: customer service, landscape design, collaboration, sales, growing plants, industry knowledge, hard work, honesty and trust. Teaching and educating horticulture requires skills in communication, writing, computer knowledge, & patience for the student. Have experience public speaking on garden-based topics to paying audiences. Experience in supervising, growing and caring for plants in greenhouse settings & outdoor production facilities. Drawing Master Plan designs, to scale, for customers to thrill over their possibilities with price options, detailed estimates with a cost break down and installation specifications provided. Soil fertility & plant preferences are certainly a skill acquired with experience and keeping up with industry trends is a must. Planting a new landscape is a great accomplishment, but keeping it alive and thriving post install is a whole new level of success. Utilizing contractors where needed for irrigation, outdoor lighting or wood structures are no problem if this does not occur in-house; these services and relationships elevate a project. Estimating tree work and participating on site is also an acquired skill.
