I worked at Dillard's Bossier during the summer and early fall of 2021. This position as a sales associate helped me build upon some of my retail skills, and it taught me a few more. My main duties were to give guests a fun shopping experience, multitask, achieve my weekly sales goals, provide excellent customer service, sell credit cards, keep my department tidy, run point of sale, style clients and set up displays and signage. I worked primarily in the junior department, but I also helped those in the women's, children's, and contemporary women's departments when needed. This experience helped me to become a jack-of-all-trades in women's retail, as I learned how to style all ages of women shopping at the store. In fact, I exceeded my sales goal during my first month working at the store.Outside of a retail perspective, this job also helped me grow as an employee because I became more confident in working solo, effectively communicating with customers, and processing sales quickly.

I began working at JCPenney Bossier as a seasonal associate during the holiday season. However, I was later hired as a full-time associate. While there, my primary duties as a cashier were to help guests, provide quick yet courteous service, inform guests about sales, and keep the store merchandise neat. This was a great first job because it forced me out of my comfort zone and helped me become the go-getter that I am today.
