Private Dentistry Awards.For the past five years, Lydia has been involved with running a dental clinic for orphans and street children in Cambodia . She travels regularly to help at the clinic, taking much needed equipment as a result of her fundraising activities. In 2010, she funded a Cambodian dental nurse to come to England for one month to learn how to make simple dentures for the children to help them become employable and raise their self esteem. At the charity, Lydia works alongside seven other dentists from around the world, including the former UK Chief Dental Officer, to raise the profile of dental health for children in Cambodia.As well as post graduate dental training in the UK, Lydia has invested a lot of her time training in state of the art techniques in America. She has trained in Florida with the renowned Dawson Academy looking at the way the teeth meet and jaws function. More recently, Lydia was in Arizona using CEREC technology to provide patients with instant ceramic restorations.Lydia has experience in all areas of general and cosmetic dentistry and has a particular interest in helping people who clench or grind their teeth and in the long term effects that this can have. She particularly enjoys the creative and artistic side of cosmetic dentistry and takes pride in producing high quality, natural looking restorations.
