This position is accountable for the provision of safe, efficient and therapeutically effective care to the patients of the Pre-Surgery and PACU areas. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with facility policies and procedures, legal, and regulatory standards. Coordinates continuous assessment utilizing all available data. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and redirects plan of care as condition indicates. Assures that patient care interventions and activities are directed at the resolution of identified patient problems/needs. With appropriate input from all team members, including patient, family, or significant other; initiates, implements, and documents a patient care plan based on standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures, established protocols, and professional judgment.

Renders professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of the patients on the Med/Surg unit.Responsibilities:Renders professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of the patients. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patients' vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

Medical assistants work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. Act as the Patient Liaison. Medical assistants are instrumental in helping patients feel at ease in the physician’s office and often explain the physician's instructions. Medical assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties.
