This summer, I understood more of what it meant to be a leader in my generation through scheduling and interviewing over 30 potential fall interns, constructing & presenting over 3 speeches, and working on a team with over 16 interns within differing sectors of talent. The Pulse Internship program gave me an opportunity to develop my public speaking skills and improve my scheduling and & organizational skills with G Suite & Email. Throughout the course of the summer, our internship cohort planned three events (covid-19 friendly), including two online broadcasts and one in-person event to spread messages of hope to our community. Working on a large team broadened my knowledge on event planning and the process of combined talent working together to put on a production. In addition to planning these events, our cohort was trained in Digital Response training through Echo Global to address online responses from the event. Additionally, I had the privilege of working closely with the director and assistant of the Training branch at Pulse to conduct phone and in-person interviews and plan for the summer & future internship schedule. Through this experience, I was able to exercise problem solving abilities and brainstorm for future improvements based on statistics from the summer.
