About Lydia Taban

I am a driven, intrinsically motivated Technologist with a broad field of expertise ranging from Software Engineering, Community Development, to Data Science. I graduated with a BSc. Applied Computer Technology with a concentration in Mobile Distributed Systems. Over years of experience, I have built expertise in implementing and analysing Distributed Systems, and Data Pipelines specifically within the context of the following Technologies: Scala, Python, Akka, Kafka, Spark and SaaS platforms; and building inclusive Communities centred on the tenets of Open-source TechnologyI am currently working in 2 roles that tie together my passion for technological advancement and community empowerment through digital skills and innovation. I am also expanding test coverage for the codebase at large.OKY is a phenomenal project centred on a mobile app that educates girls all over the world about Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management. It uses a fun gamified approach to provide girls with this Information.
