Branch Secretary of MMU UNISON and elected to the HE Service Group Executive. I’m a senior negotiator at my branch level and am part of the strategic leadership for the union nationally in my sector. I represent and am answerable to members; I’m an experienced caseworker, convenor, and communicator. I hold a second role as the Disabled Members Officer for the branch. I have a professional background in higher education project management and delivery (I hold an APM Project Management Qualification); project finance; research ethics; both directed and independent research; student welfare and support; learning and teaching; curriculum management and data analysis; editing and publications; and secretarial / administrative support.Alongside my higher education career, I’m also an experienced trustee of charitable organisations with practical knowledge of charity finances; staff and volunteer management; event planning and comms administration; and good governance. I am very open about having an 'invisible' disability (Crohn's Disease). I proudly serve on the Steering Committee of the National Association of Disabled Staff Networks.
