1. While volunteering at the Department of Workforce Services, I analyzed job leads received while attending by-weekly Job Club meetings. I assisted 100+ individuals with registration requirements for access to DWS Electronic Job Board. While viewing numerous search engines (50) taught research techniques to unemployed / under-employed clients. Critiqued 75 individuals regarding, Interviewing Techniques, Networking Strategies and Resume Writing which resulted in 62% who are now employed. I encouraged team-work and determination in the job search endeavor.2. While volunteering for The Church Welfare System, a. Bishop's Storehouse : I stocked shelves. b. School trained Combat Engineer, Demolitions Specialist, Special Weapons and Team Member. One of my other specialties was in Communications / Electronics. Attended NCOA (Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, NCOES (Non-Commissioned Officers Education System), Army Recruiter and Drill Sergeant Schools. Culminated Active Duty as a Sergeant First Class / E-7, fulfilling the position as the Battalion Communications Manager, stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado. I supervised Soldiers (from a Team of five up to a Company Sized Unit of 400) for more than 18 years. During which times I was responsible for their welfare, morale, and training. Administrative duties included work schedules, promotions, military leaves and served as a counselor. I taught military personnel in a wide array of subjects and how to become Soldiers. Some of the subjects were Military History, weapons, tactics, self-defense, survival, leadership, safety, work ethics, First-Aid, CPR, camouflage and concealment, vehicle identification and communications. I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for Special Trust and Confidence in the Patriotism, Valor, Fidelity, Professional Excellence of a Non-Commissioned Officer and Dedicated Service to The United States Army.
