I manage a department to take care of the engineering design software in our multi discipline / full service engineering firm. We use a whole slew of Autodesk and Bentley software. My group tests, purchases, installs, and customizes this software. We write procedures and standards and train our users. My group also does most of the initial design, 3D modeling, visualization, and animations using a variety of software including 3D Studio MAX.Currently using Laser Scanning and our UAV on several projects and experimenting with VR and AR for sharing our designs.CDG Engineers is quite diverse, performing engineering for city streetscapes, biking/hiking trails, and bridges, to designing complete niche bulk material handling solutions for heavy industry including power plants, mines, and grain facilities.It's a good, fun job at a good company.

Contract employee. Went to Saudi for 7 weeks to measure and draft existing F-15 maintenace facilities at 5 Saudi airbases and help layout new facilities for new F-15s the Saudi Airforce was purchasing.Fun, hot, good experience. Got to go snorkling in the Red Sea. Very cool.
