As the chief fundraiser I have been responsible for securing new foundation funding, doubling a renewal, and switching a renewal from program support to general operating support.

As Senior Fellow, I led the Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Survey work. I strengthened and expanded the survey instrument, managed foundation recruitment (increasing the number of participating foundations by nearly 250 percent), conducted the analysis, wrote the report, and presented the findings. To prepare for the 2020 DAPP, I also developed and launched series of infographics to highlight community specific findings from the 2018 DAPP survey.I also designed and provided research and communications focused technical assistance for CHANGE Philanthropy partner organizations. Moreover, I served as a thought partner to the National Director and partner organizations in addition to serving as a coalition representative on several sector wide efforts to address diversity, equity, and inclusion and improve reporting on grantmaking to communities of color.

Funders for LGBTQ Issues works to increase the scale and impact of philanthropic resources aimed at enhancing the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities, promoting equity, and advancing racial, economic and gender justice.As Vice President of Research and Communications, I oversee the organization’s research into trends, gaps and opportunities for LGBTQ funding. I am responsible for developing and implementing the organization's communications strategy and leading efforts to educate the wider philanthropic field about how LGBTQ communities are affected by a range of grantmaking priorities. Funders for LGBTQ issues has a long history of reporting on LGBTQ grantmaking by both U.S. foundations and international institutions. We produce an annual tracking report and other special reports to monitor the charter of LGBTQ funding in order to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Our reports on domestic and global LGBTQ funding are considered the field’s most reliable and useful source of data on resource flows to LGBTQ communities. Many of our reports have been cited by academic journals, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, newspapers, blogs, and other media.

Stonewall Community Foundation is the public charity for New York City's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Since 1990, the Foundation has invested more than $15 million in over 450 organizations via our donor advised funds and annual grant making. The Foundation inspires social change through strategic initiatives designed to engage the community, empower our leaders and invest in grassroots LGBTQ organizations across the five boroughs.At the Foundation I was instrumental in all development efforts, strategic communications and the management of our young giving circle (Stonewall Quarter Share). In my tenure we instituted a formal communications schedule resulting in an average email open rate of 15% above industry average and a click through rate above 60% above industry average. In managing our signature events I procured corporate sponsorships from Armani Exchange, Coors Light, Diageo, Morgan Stanley and more. With the Stonewall Swim I managed to produce a nearly 16% increase in revenue despite the loss of our biggest fundraiser. With REVEL, I secured more corporate sponsorship cash then the event had even seen.

The Foreign Policy Association is a non-profit dedicated to encouraging Americans to get involved and participate in foreign policy decision making. At FPA, I oversaw the expansion of the "FPA U" pilot project into a fully realized program operating in both New York and Washington, D.C. I successfully developed an outreach strategy that not only identified key marketing populations and potential partners, but established measurable objectives, reasonable timing and realistic tactics. Following this plan we were able to sell out several career development seminars with up to 93% of participants coming from outside the FPA membership pool. I was personally responsible for the creation and standardization of all FPA U marketing collateral. This required crafting crafting a core copy, creating HTML emails, re-designing the logo, fashioning fliers and brochures, and compiling press releases and media kits. I was often able to achieve an email open rate 41.5%-77.5% higher than the industry average with a click through rate 38%-102% higher than the industry average. Another aspect of my position required I cultivate partnerships with organizations including the United Nations Association of the United States of America, the American Foreign Service Association, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, Devex and more. I also was responsible for the recruitment and management of FPA U supporting staff.
