I lead the Instagram Sharing Data Science Organization, which builds and operates Instagram's core consumer sharing products including Instagram Stories, Instagram Direct, and Avatars. Over the past two years, we built the Add Yours sticker, shipped Story Likes, launched Notes and introduced Avatars to Instagram.

Metis is an immersive program focused on teaching the design, implementation and communication of data science projects. The program is largely Python based and leverages statistical packages, such as sci-kit learn and StatsModels, for data analysis. Example projects:• Leveraged python to analyze MTA subway data and identify traffic patterns over time in NYC subway system• Analyzed Oscar nominated movies by scraping for information on over 15,000 films using python Beautiful Soup; analyzed dataset to understand importance of distribution partners in predicting movie gross• Built MySQL database on DigitalOcean cloud server to store spending information from the Consumer Expenditure Survey. Trained and tested multiple supervised learning classifiers to develop model to predict household demographics based on analysis of spending data, created visualization with d3.js
