As a partnership broker (PB) I am responsible for bringing schools, communityorganisations and employers together in strategic partnerships that help improvestudent retention and engagement in school. I coordinate multiple partnerships andprojects concurrently.

I was responsible for managing a team of youth workers working with disengagedyouth aged 11-19 under DEEWR's Youth Connections Program. This role involveddesigning program delivery and implementation and all external and internal reporting.This position required building strong working relationships with schools, othercommunity organisations and employers.

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) CoordinatorAs Youth Connections is a flexible and growing organisation I have filled a number ofdifferent positions within the organisation. As funding and focus changed, I was able tosupport the organisation through my wide range of skills and expertise and ability towork with change. I commenced employment at Youth Connections as an SWLcoordinator. This involved building relationships with Central Coast employers andschools and facilitating weekly work placements of Year 11 and 12 students inbusinesses where they could develop the skills they were learning in their Vocationalsubjects. I then worked as a Transition Support Worker providing case management toyoung people who were at risk of disengaging from school. In the last 6 months of thecontract I assumed the role of Southern Region Manager. I was responsible for threestaff members who coordinated structured workplace learning opportunities in thePeninsula and Gosford areas and provided Youth Transition Worker support for youngpeople 13 to 19 who were at risk of, or had already disengaged from school andeducation. I was responsible for all staff and task planning and internal andgovernment reporting.

As a conference convenor I am contracted to bring together juvenile offenders, theirfamilies and supporters, victim/s, police and appropriate members of the communitythat may help the young person repair the harm they have caused and take steps toprevent re-offending. I organise and facilitate all my conference and prepare reportsfor Juvenile Justice in relation to the outcomes achieved.

Responsibilities included promoting Career Advice Australia programs tobusinesses/organisations in the Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and theLower Hunter regions, to increase employer participation in Structured WorkplaceLearning, Career Transition Programs and Adopt a School projects.

Duties included providing industrial relations, OH&S and workers compensation adviceand support. I was also involved with staff selection and training.
