I'm the Principal of The Accountability Group, Inc., a consultancy focused on readying boards for the future through key questions, authentic dialogue, and a systems and regenerative approach. I lead sessions with boards to develop a shared understanding of good governance fundamentals. And now, I am advancing regenerative governance with particular attention to how all sectors can learn from each other and align to meet system challenges. I've held executive positions as CEO and COO at national organizations, and served on boards as both Chair and Director. Since 2006, I've provided facilitation and governance training to directors in public sector/voluntary organizations across a range of sectors, professions, and industries. I'm a Chartered Director (C. Dir), and Certified Management Consultant (awarded recognition as a Fellow). From 2007-2017, I was a member of the Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee of CPA Canada; serving as Chair for four years. I'm Past-President of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario and currently teach as adjunct faculty “Accountability Issues in the Public Sector” as part of the Master of Financial Accountability Program at York University. My MA (Soc.) study on organizational life-cycles continues to evolve through my ongoing learning and focus to support today's boards on critical governance issues across a range of dimensions including: complex system dynamics, human adaptation, climate change, energy and materials prospects, sustainability, ESG, regenerative and ecological economics, Web3, and of course, response to the opportunities and challenges of AI. I'm connected to related communities of practice for a number of these topics. Aiming for new thinking and synthesis, I strive to bring both positive accountability and creative possibility into my work with organizations.
