This award singled CDA out for its bold and innovative solution that broke new ground in the search for governance excellence. Adjudicators recognized this transformation of CDA's governance structure taking the board to a new level, "as significant, challenging, and transferable, and well tested both financially and strategically." Also developed the concept of Signature Programs, core for CDA which could be provided as resources for local presentations. Before COO, was Executive Director of Ontario Division, CDA, 1993 – 1999 and responsible for CDA’s largest Division. Ken Wyman at the time was one of the few fundraising consultants for the not for profit sector in the small and medium sized category. I learned from Ken the basics of case development, messaging, writing, about fundraising and networking, relating and communicating, and the vital enthusiasm and passion as I worked with clients.

Linking Regional Offices across the country - each building a community and doing development education and fundraising for international development. Country programs overseas through the organization doing good work that Canadians would support, as today.

As a former Crossroader to Nigeria, West Africa, November 76 -May 77, I became the first dedicated person in the national office to support the branches across the country with information, encouragement, resources, support and recognition. This involved visits, being hosted by volunteers, with potluck type events held. I also supported and facilitated an education-animateur program that was several days of training in retreat at the time. A different world for sure in many ways!
