My strengths are in business planning, finance and management. I worked 17 years with the St. Helena Development Agency - the last six years as the Managing Director. I resigned from this post in December 2002 to pursue self employment.From March 1995, I have co-managed the family business - Rose & Crown Limited. My fellow directors are my husband Larry and daughter Tara. In the last 20 years our family business has grown from one retail shop to five. We have also diversified into printing having acquired two companies that provide personalised and corporate printing services.From January 2003, I became self employed and added business and financial training delivery to my professional portfolio. A key highlight was delivering training to students studying for the ACCA Certified Accountant Technician (CAT) financial and management accounting examinations.In October 2003 I was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of St. Helena, a challenging and rewarding role. I retired in May 2016.I served on the Board of Directors of Connect St. Helena Ltd (local Utilities company) from May 2018 to August 2022, chairing the Audit and Risk Committee during that time.I joined the Board of Directors of St. Helena Airport Ltd in August 2020 and took on the Chairmanship in September 2023.I strongly advocate continuous professional and personal development, with a generous serving of common sense, to retain your individual competitive advantage.
