The Cleveland Foundation launched Neighborhood Connections in 2003 to empower people in Cleveland’s neighborhoods and encourage them to become more engaged with each other and the city around them. Neighborhood Connections extends small grants that fund citizen-led neighborhood projects.Neighborhood Connections offers small grants to groups of residents in Cleveland and East Cleveland to do projects that improve the quality of life in their communities. Grants range from $500 to $5,000. Grants are intended to spur small, grassroots community projects. Grants may be used for a wide variety of activities and projects, and groups are encouraged to think in new ways about what will work in their neighborhoods.

Cleveland Bridge Builders connects and engages experiential leaders seeking collaborative civic education, interested in building relationships among a diverse group of passionate civic leaders and learning to make positive change in our community. In 2013 I was selected to participate in this program representing a dedicated cohort of local leaders who commit to participating in an interactive team-based curriculum with a keen focus on civic issues. After completing this unique environment developed for collaboration, growth and learning, Bridge Builders say they have built bridges of “optimism, growth, vision and legacy.”

The Centers for Families and Children is one of the largest human service nonprofit organizations in Northeast Ohio. The Centers makes success possible by helping individuals and families take action on the barriers of poverty, most notably the barriers of mental illness, lack of quality early childhood education, involvement with the criminal justice system and unstable families.-Successfully integrated two Associate Boards’ governance and operations following a corporate merger-Coordinated the Associate Board and its fundraising ($80,000+), community outreach, service and advocacy initiatives-Developed and implemented cross-functional Medicaid Buy-In program designed to: 1) increase access to healthcare services; 2) provide workforce development for adults with disabilities; 3) generate additional revenue (~$250,000) for the organization via Medicaid reimbursements-Built Excel tool to analyze volunteer engagement and made recommendations to better align volunteer program with organization’s strategic priorities and fiscal goals-Utilized knowledge of Cleveland's civic landscape to cultivate collaborative relationships with business, academic, government, and community partners to further organization's mission

The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Cleveland strives to connect and cultivate future leaders in the nonprofit community by engaging young professionals, supporting career development, and offering networking opportunities. YNPN Cleveland facilitates regular networking events, educational seminars, and links to important resources help members as they build their careers in nonprofit Cleveland.-Planned and managed operations for volunteer-led organization with over 1,300 local members-Analyzed member needs and researched sector trends to strategically design and organize monthly training workshops to enhance effectiveness of young professionals in Cleveland's nonprofit sector-Co-Founded and coordinated a Nonprofit Mentor Program, which was profiled in Crain’s Cleveland Business Magazine (January 9, 2012)-Represented the organization via public speaking engagements and social media to recruit members and to promote organization to local organizations in order to establish mutually beneficial partnerships

-Developed strategic partnerships to advance relationships with stakeholders and better serve those affected by mental illness-Streamlined and managed databases to improve program operations-Assisted in raising $150,000+ annually by organizing, promoting and executing major events-Coordinated social media outreach campaigns to build community awareness and increase program capacity

Provided vocational rehabilitation services to adults with mental disabilities, including those with Dual Diagnoses (concurrent mental illness and substance abuse) and those re-entering the workforce after incarceration.
