I firmly believe that knowledge is a powerful agent for change. My commitment to harnessing knowledge for the greater good of society is the foundation of all my professional and volunteer activities. Too often I find such an ideal is thwarted by absent, ineffective or inefficient administrative or other systems which creates stumbling blocks for university researchers and others seeking to create or share new knowledge for the benefit of society as a whole. I view my role in any organization as a steward of the public trust which compels me to take personal responsibility to address and minimize administrative challenges so that the technical experts can focus their attention on what they do best. Sometimes the issue is more structural in nature. In these cases, I have a penchant and a knack (and quite the passion!) for updating strategic plans and integrated evaluation plans so they become useful tools to chart progress and move organizations forward. Indeed, I have dedicated my career to enabling not-for-profits from different angles, and am always seeking new ways to contribute to this mission in any sector.
