As the Marketing and Development Manager at Valley Oak Children’s Services, I lead efforts to increase community awareness and support for programs that empower families and children across Butte County. I create strategic communication plans, foster partnerships with local organizations, and manage fundraising initiatives to expand our reach. With a focus on effective outreach, I oversee campaigns that highlight our services, from childcare referrals to essential community resources. My goal is to ensure every family knows how Valley Oak can support their journey.

In this position with Bidwell Junior High School, I was responsible for maintaining attendance for the 900+ student population, served as the liason for administration, managed the front desk of the main office, and also covered all public relations for the school. Because of my success in school-parent communications at Chico High, I was tasked with reformatting the school website to increase promotion of school activities, and took over all school social media accounts to coordinate messaging. I created the online school newsletter using Smore, which received over 2,000 views per week.To assist with rebranding, I made a series of promotional videos highlighting the characteristics of Bidwell that made it such a meaningful place for students and staff. These videos were highlighted on the school website for incoming families to be able to easily familiarize themselves with the unique features of the school.

Responsible for increasing school-to-parent and school-to-community communication. Besides creating and maintaining school social media accounts for promotion of school events and student/school achievements, I reformatted the school website to increase promotion of school activities as well as redesigned the school newsletter, which received over 1,000 views per week.Also assisted students and staff with technical troubleshooting, resourcing library materials, and class scheduling.
