I always dreamed of having a creative career. Over the years, my vision of what that looked like has changed. When I was working on my Bachelor’s in graphic design it looked like working for a publication. I wanted to work for a magazine or work in the publishing field. While I still held onto this dream, I temporarily put it aside to go back to school and get a second degree in communication. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I have no regrets with the path I chose. Entering my senior year, the pandemic hit. I was unemployed and virtually taking classes. It was a big change, but I am so thankful for it. Not only did I develop a new passion for content creation, I also found a new passion for life. As I prepared for graduation, I also began to do more things that I loved to do. I started a TikTok channel, I started reading again, and I also began designing again. I spent time in InDesign and Canva for my final projects making them aesthetically pleasing.After graduation, I was fortunate to be able to return to work. It was also important for me to continue doing things that fueled my creativity: I took many trips to Disneyland, I traveled to Barcelona, I went to concerts, and I read a massive amount of books. At the beginning of 2022, I started a remote marketing and social media internship for a Canadian Disney Small Shop. It was during this internship that I saw my two degrees work in tandem. I was using my graphic design skills as well as my social media and communication skills. It felt like puzzle pieces falling into place. Now, I am looking for a position that combines my passion for design, social media, marketing, and content creation.
