Why do I love Enterprise and have a passion for HR?... Well, being naturally curious in people (some could say nosy!) their ideas and businesses, it was the natural choice. I am keen to support SMEs and social enterprises to grow by working together to improve processes and assist in the writing of business plans and funding applications. I have been doing this for 18 years! I am looking forward to working especially with the Third Sector - currently I contract for the Society for Contamination Control (a fantastic social enterprise aimed at educating in this field). Having worked with Prince’s Trust for many years, and as a DWP contractor latterly, I am highly experienced in working with young people, and those who are furthest from the labour market. Due to this experience, through Little Gem, we have developed “Skills for Self-Employment”, a bespoke workshop aimed at those who have little or no knowledge in business, but who have the bright ideas and drive to start their own, whether this is from scratch or through hobbies that lend themselves to entrepreneurship.
