About Lyndsey Dossett

Recently, I started a new position as a Health Promotion Specialist with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health. I worked as a Senior Analyst on the Canadian Patient Experiences Reporting System (CPERS) team at the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). I led patient experience data collection and reporting, and facilitated educational sessions to engage key stakeholders on the uptake and use of patient experience data across Canada.Previously, as a Senior Analyst for the Indicator Research and Development (IRD) team at CIHI, I had the opportunity to contribute to the development, calculation, and refinement of new and existing indicators, which allowed me to collaborate both internally and externally with subject matter experts as well as lead the team’s client engagement strategy. Previously, as an Analyst for the Health Workforce Information (HWI) team at CIHI, I had the opportunity to contribute to the data collection process for the Health Workforce Database (HWDB), which included liaising with data providers effectively to ensure quality data file submissions. I co-presented in a roundtable discussion on internationally educated health care providers at the 2018 Canadian Health Workforce Conference (CHWC). Prior to my work at the CIHI, I graduated with a Master of Science in Epidemiology at Queen's University in August 2017, where I gained three years of epidemiology research experience in mental health.During my graduate degree, I undertook a Research Assistant position that focused on the implementation and evaluation of a novel anti-stigma program, Cooking Connections, in collaboration with diverse community organizations. I have one semester of teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate epidemiology course at Queen's University. This involved effectively teaching students epidemiology fundamentals and preparing course materials for students.
