Current• Be the first and primary contact a public official and community stakeholders have with the University. A key member of the GCR team to advance our mission to develop, build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with public officials and community stakeholders at all levels and promoting RIT’s reputation and prestige as a community asset. • Registered NYS Lobbyist• Work with the Director, Community Relations to recruit students and manage student lobby days in Albany and Washington D.C.• Work with contract lobbyists in Albany and Washington, DC.• Work with the events team to assist with logistical arrangements, prepare materials and itineraries, and process details associated with visits by government officials and community leaders touring RIT facilities to become familiar with capabilities and programs.• Responsible for daily management and oversight of GCR social media account including requests for information that come in via social media.• Design and create ads for GCR/RIT’s sponsorship of community events and develop creative concept.• Coordinate GCR participation in community events, on and off campus, including interfacing with the host organizations to joint and sourcing/communicating with attendees.• Work with the entire GCR team, and university wide departments, to highlight economic development initiatives, including but not limited to, new construction projects, economic impact reports, faculty and student research accomplishments, etc. • Promote GCR managed events (IMAGINE RIT, Brick City Homecoming Weekend, etc) on appropriate platforms via social media, internal and external listservs, RIT newsletters, etc.• Work with the VP and outside counsel to maintain the list of RIT’s registered lobbyists.• Assist with bi-monthly lobbying report collection.• Draft bi-annual university wide lobbying/campaign related activity memo and reportable relationship memo from the VP.
