I am responsible for and lead the Hilton Legal function in Asia Pacific (APAC) and play a strategic role in the integration between functions and business units across the globe. Key responsibilities include:- • providing pro-active legal leadership, support and guidance to officers and senior management;• protection of the company’s commercial interests and risk management under local law in each jurisdiction where business operations and activities take place; • providing strategic advice and overseeing legal services to the corporate development function and individual hotel development transactions;• general oversight and management of coordination on all legal matters in APAC including in the areas of dispute resolution and compliance; • leadership, management and supervision of the APAC Legal team of 17 lawyers and legal professionals, located in Singapore, China, Japan and India; • management and supervision of a diverse panel of external counsels;• management and control of overall budgets of Legal department in APAC.Member of the Legal Leadership Team of the global Legal Department of Hilton & Member of the Senior Executive Committee of Hilton in APAC. Prior to my current role, I was the Head of the Americas Legal Development & Real Estate Division of Hilton, I managed a team of 40 attorneys & legal staff in 2 offices (Virginia and Memphis) in US, including a sizeable (25 members) newly integrated contract administration team. Apart from leading the overall management and organization of this Legal division, my key responsibilities also included partnering with senior business executives to meet development targets and undertake real estate transactions in the biggest markets which generate the highest revenue for Hilton.
