Lyn Liston is an accomplished bush fire professional with over 24 years’ experience studying, volunteering and working in the field of bush fire and environmental management.Qualified as a BPAD Level 3 practitioner with the FPAA, Lyn also has a BSc, Graduate Diploma in Design for Bushfire Prone Areas, Diploma of Management and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.Lyn’s employment history has been with State Government agencies including NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service as well as the private industry.She has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of bush fire behaviour, prescribed burn planning, bush fire risk planning, strategic land use planning, design and building, emergency management, fire management strategies and environmental impact assessments and plans of management.Lyn also possesses strong skills in bush fire education, developed through the delivery of community engagement programs to volunteers, property owners, community groups and schools whilst with the NSW Rural Fire Service. Lyn’s knowledge of bush fire behaviour together with her environmental background allow for the best outcome and approach to fire management and ecological conservation within the bounds of legislative and policy requirements.
