About Lynette Mcdermott
I have more than 25 years experience in the law having practiced in a Sydney CBD law firm specialising in Family Law for over 10 years and since 2001 not only in Family Law but a broad range of legal areas. I obtained a Diploma of Laws through the Law Extension Committee of Sydney University and was admitted as a Barrister in 1989. I had previously worked as a paralegal and legal secretary and after being admitted to the Bar I took time away from the profession to raise two children, during which time I was involved in numerous voluntary organisations.In 2001 I re-joined the workforce as a solicitor in a specialist Sydney Family Law firm. From 2007 until 2013 I worked as an employed solicitor at Brookvale after which I established McDermott Lawyers on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. I also worked as a consultant solicitor in Family Law with Rankin Ellison Lawyers.
