Key responsibilities included legal advisory on product development (Private equity, Property, and traditional Investment Funds ), contract drafting and review, liaison with external counsel on products and litigious matters, secretariat of committees, advisory on recent legislative changes affecting the business, regional expansion of the business to other jurisdictions, among other such tasks supporting the Asset Management Business.

During this period i was involved in contract review and drafting, research and preparation of legal opinions, and compliance of various entities including limited liability partnerships. I was also tasked with various company secretarial tasks, including preparation of reports, resolutions etc. Aside from these tasks i was exposed to leadership roles in various committees within the Company.

Key responsibilities included:Assisting with the compliance aspects of the companies products in respect to the Capital Markets Act, Retirement Benefits Act and Limited Liability Partnership Act. This included compliance reviews, providing recommendations, performing research, providing legal opinions and reports as requested from time to time, and Drafting of legal documentation (incl. contracts).

Worked primarily under the Commercial and Conveyancing Department. I was tasked with legal research and producing detailed legal opinions on matters ranging from incorporation of tax havens, public private partnerships, the Kenyan oil and gas sector and the law and regulations governing it.I also undertook tasks such as reviewing lease and tenancy agreements, handling clients, incorporating and registering companies, land acquisitions and transfers.
