Nestled within the backwoods of Nekoosa, just minutes from Lake Petenwell. We have the entertainment you're looking for. I brought in the Great River Shakespeare Festival Intern production. I created content for the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for the Black River area. I also assisted with the multiple special events that the Chamber hosted which included: Business After 5, Karner Blue Half Marathon, Octoberfest, Business Expo and Entertainment in the Park. The Black River Area Chamber of Commerce is a strong group of local businesses and organizations that believe in “building business, creating community and promoting tourism." The Chamber also promotes tourism throughout the region using funds that come from room tax revenue. Tourists spent more than $37.8 million dollars in Jackson County in 2018, resulting in total business sales of $58.3 million. The executive director and staff attend many economic development and business forums throughout the year to stay in touch with the latest on the business front. We also attend the annual Wisconsin tourism conference. Business referral: The Chamber receives more than 6,000 calls and emails per year plus visits. They supply information about our members and refer inquiries to them. The Chamber uses room tax funding for digital advertising to help promote our area. They also have a very active Facebook page with a large following.

    I worked as the Public Relations Manager for the Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature. I was in charge of updating the various publics of the HCN Legislature. I maintained their social media accounts, website, newsletters, attended special events, and created news stories. I also collaborated with the HCN PR Officer and their team. I attended Legislative Meetings and created updates for constituents and the public. The Ho-Chunk Nation government is comprised of four branches of government; executive, legislative, judicial and the general council. This government was set up to provide a communication tool to deal with Federal, State and local governments. It is based on our constitutions of 1963 and 1994. The Ho-Chunk Nation also has a traditional government system based on a chief and clan system. The power of the Executive Branch is vested in the President of the Ho-Chunk Nation. The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws of the Nation. The Legislature Branch passes laws to ensure the safety and well-being of the Ho-Chunk Nation. It is made up of 13 representatives called Legislators from four districts, who can serve up to two terms of four (4) years. There are three districts within the State of Wisconsin with a fourth district being anything outside of Wisconsin. The representatives of this branch are elected by the people within the districts they represent. The vice president is a legislator and part of the Legislative branch.
