Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Lyn Goldfarb has a unique portfolio of award-winning films and video productions, screened in theaters and festivals, broadcast on public television, streamed, exhibited at museums and for non-profits. CommissionerCommissioner, Personal Assistance Services Council Aug 2015 - PresentI was appointed by Los Angeles Supervisor Sheila Kuehl to serve as a Commissioner on the 15 member Governing Board for the Personal Assistance Services Council (LA County Public Authority). I was re-appointed by the Department of Public Social Services. We are a volunteer Commission. The mission of PASC is to improve the In-Home Supportive Services Program and enhance the quality of life for all people who receive and provide In-Home Support Services. As a Commissioner, I oversee the activities of PASC, which includes registry services, the back-up attendant program, consumer outreach, consumer training and education, managed care, and advise on the many issues affecting people with disabilities and seniors. I also review the budget and financial reports, monthly management reports and tracking of actions and updates on the issues that impact the PASC community. We work directly with the Department of Social Services, Service Employees International Union, and with the many organizations that impact our constituents, such as the IHSS Coalition, California IHSS Consumer Alliance, Justice in Aging, California Alliance for Retired Americans, California Association of Public Authorities, AARP, the independent living centers.
