The majority of my work in schools involves vision and capacity building of library and IT/e-learning teams, the design and implementation of my iCentre model, school library review and evaluation services, school library facilities design, developing evidence-based programs for school library teams, and providing professional learning for teacher librarians and teachers in designing inquiry-based learning experiences for students, and developing digital citizenship policies and programs in schools. My research interests are multi-faceted and interdisciplinary, including the impact of school libraries on student learning, teacher librarians as evidence-based practitioners, inquiry learning within a digital world, iCentres as learning hubs in schools, digital citizenship, and education informatics. This included the use of a range of Web 2.0 technologies to provide students with opportunities to learn flexibly in terms of time, place and pace, to cater for diverse learning styles and to encourage more collaborative learning experiences for DE students.This project involves the design of twelve subjects and consisted of three phases: Design & Testing, Implementation & Evaluation, and Dissemination. While contributing to a culture of curriculum renewal and improving staff expertise in flexible and blended learning strategies, the project also contributed to the School’s scholarship in teaching research and publication output.
