Lyn is an managing partner at Heaton Business Consultants, LLC providing project management training to various corporations and military bases since 2007. She is an active member of the Kansas City Chapter of PMI (Project Management Institute) and has provided training for several of their offerings. Lyn received her Project Management Professional Certification in 2001 and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.Lyn is a Certified Training Provider with the non- profit Project Management Training Alliance (PMTA), and was recently elected to their Board of Directors. PMTA members represent the gold standard in project management training. Previously Lyn worked for 19 years in the Telecommunications industry at Sprint Nextel. She held the position of Project / Program Manager in various departments including Network Services, Information Services, Finance, and Marketing. During that time she worked on many of their multi-million dollar projects in the Long Distance and Wireless divisions. Those projects include billing system customer migrations, long distance switch development, Sprint ION, wireless System upgrades for 3G, wireless industry standards changes, location based services products (i.e. GPS), and wireless emergency 911 upgrades.Before moving to Overland Park, Lyn was an instructor of computer science courses at Austin Community College in Austin, TX for six years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska.
