Systems Development Manager for the Warehouse Management Systems. Used third party system, HighJump, to direct receipt, put away, picking, shipping and auditing of inventory. • Managed day-to-day programming and support activities of 8 internal developers, 2 consultants and 4 international developers. Worked closely with the Business Project Manager to prioritize projects and work assignments to enable on-time and on-budget delivery of projects.• Successfully deployed the HighJump WMS to 3 U.S. warehouses and 1 international warehouse, increasing inventory accuracy levels to 99.5% and helping to reduce staff by up to 50%.• Directed the effort on the Print-on-Demand project. After successfully completing the project, warehouse users only printed labels for items that were on their fork lift instead of the labels being printed ahead of time. This resulted in label cost savings since they didn’t print labels for pieces that were not available and time savings by avoiding up to 45 minutes per container in sorting and applying labels. The net result was a savings of over $1 Million per year in reduced label and labor costs.• Coordinated programming and implementation project to automate the warehouse transfers process. By removing this completely manual process, we increased shipping rates, on time delivery and reduced labor staff by 50%.• Led the design and development effort on the Labor Advantage project. By applying industrial time standards to warehouse work, it provides better visibility to warehouse metrics and increases productivity by 10%.

Programmer Analyst for Wal-Mart Global Perishable Fulfillment (GPF) replenishment system. GPF is a proprietary system, primarily coded in COBOL, EasyTrieve and batch DB2, which forecasts order need and creates purchase orders for perishable items such as meat, dairy, produce, bakery and deli items.• Performed lead programmer duties for GPF Item Flip project. The Item Flip project corrected an issue that caused the on hand inventory of an item to be zeroed out when the item changed replenishment types (changing from staple stock to cross dock). This change will save the business customer $5 Million annually in increased order accuracy, reduced markdowns, reduced waste and increased labor savings.• Performed lead analyst duties to decommission the Global Perishable Fulfillment application in Germany. The Germany stores had been sold and the GPF application shutdown was a requirement to fulfill the exit strategy out of the country.• Co-managed GPF Multiple DC project. GPF was originally designed to only allow replenishment from one DC within a particular country. This project included the analysis, design, development, testing and installation of a programming solution to enable forecasting and replenishment from multiple DC's. The addition of more DCs enabled the expansion of stores within the country due to added warehousing and distribution capacity.• Managed project to convert Great Britain business customers from their current replenishment system to the Global Perishable Fulfillment solution. By converting to GPF, the business customer will see an annual profit payback of $7.4 Million by improving functionality and adding additional capacity. This added capacity will enable an increase in the number of perishable and short life products that can be run through the system for future business growth.
