The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is an association of nine YMCA locations across Chester County, PA. As the Major Gifts Officer, and member of the Association Development Office team, I work in partnership with the branch Executive Directors and YMCA of Greater Brandywine senior leadership to identify, cultivate and secure major gifts. As the DGS Director of Operations and Development, I oversee all development, marketing, advocacy, advertising, branding, and major gift fundraising activities. I am responsible for improved operational efficiency and leadership across numerous support, administrative and billing roles while aligning strategic goals, growth initiatives and mission-driven care. As Director of Development and Operations, I am responsible for the operational facility management of 5 behavioral healthcare sites Statewide. Facility management includes general safety and building maintenance and upgrades; coordination of energy audits to determine essential energy efficiency upgrades; continued COVID-19 protocols and procedures; fleet coordination, upgrades and oversight; and coordination with the DGS privacy and security officer to ensure our sites are in accordance with current JCAHO standards and regulations. Additionally, I provide leadership for all billing and administrative and support functions of the organization including medical billing, medical records, intake and scheduling and front desk. As part of the senior Leadership Team, I work closely with the Chief Clinical Officer, Director of Administration and Chief Executive Officer.

Delaware Guidance Services (DGS) is Delaware’s largest behavioral health agency for children and families. With Over 100K visits per year, DGS operates in 5 agency locations, schools, as well as a variety of community-based organizations throughout the State. As the DGS Development Director, I will design and implement a comprehensive fundraising, marketing and advocacy program to grow development revenues to targeted levels and enhance the awareness of the agency in the community; provide strategic oversight of all development activities including annual fund, major gifts, federal and state grants, special events and corporate and foundation support; and implement a comprehensive major gift fundraising program that includes the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and prospects.

Responsible for licensing original syndicated content produced by Nemours Center for Children’s Health Media to national health organizations and private corporations that need trusted health content for their audiences. Develop strategies to market and develop prospects to support KidsHealth.org, the most-visited children’s health and parenting website in the world (more than 1 million visits daily), as well as online, print and video education products. Develop innovative programs to elevate the KidsHealth brand and bring in additional revenue.

Led and managed major gifts fundraising and development for prominent national fresh water research center based in Avondale, PA. Managed an $11 million capital campaign with 50% raised in less than two years. Worked closely with board and development committee to identify, track and solicit major prospects; managed regional events (Philadelphia, NYC and Maine), wrote proposals and coordinated annual giving program that has grown 30% in three years. Raised over $500,000 in unrestricted revenue annually, worked with “next generation” donor base, and executed annual gala. Managed Associate Development Director, and volunteers, and served as secretary to the SWRC Board of Directors.

Created first full-time development position in highly regarded 125-year-old Wilmington-based social services organization. Developed and managed $3.5 million capital campaign, successfully solicited over $1 million in new grant funding sources. Managed Board Development Committee and worked closely with individual board members. Managed annual fund and planned giving programs. Wrote press releases, maintained website, coordinated major fundraising events and assisted in short and long range budget and program development.

Successfully identified foundation, corporate, and government sources of support for several nonprofit organizations. Prepared program/project budgets for proposals. Wrote, edited and distributed a quarterly newsletter. Developed and continually updated grants database for the organization.
