I am responsible for advertising, interviewing, training, coordinating and general management of all staff, including payroll and admin.

I worked shifts at IMI. The computer office was manned 24hrs a day. My responsibilities were downloading software for the Computer Operators to use that day then uploading it onto every VDU in the office individually. Removing the data spools from our mainframe computer system and refrigerating them in the warehouse, then attaching the new spool, connecting and checking it. Opening a link with our London office, checking and uploading the day’s data, and receiving instructions for my day’s tuition. The reason I left IMI was to have my first child, born May 1978.
