CORCAN is a key rehabilitation program of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC). It contributes to safe communities by providing offenders with employment and employability skills training while incarcerated in federal penitentiaries, and for brief periods of time, after they are released into the community. This is done through on-the-job and third-party certified vocational training that focuses on our four business lines which combined total revenues of between 65-70 Million dollars per year:1.Manufacturing2.Textiles3.Construction4.ServicesCORCAN's work supports the social policy of the Government of Canada to safely reintegrate offenders into society in a way that promotes their success as Canadian citizens.

Responsible for the direction and management of internal investigations into incidents where serious bodily harm has occurred (i.e. murder, riot, suicide, etc); manages a country-wide cadre of National Investigators as well as regional and national analytical staff; responsible for presenting the findings and recommendations to the Executive Committee of the Correctional Service; responsible for the oversight of management action plans in response to findings and recommendations; responsible for identifying trend issues, both regionally and nationally and providing reports to Executive Committee; responsible for identifying and implementing stream-lining measures in the Branch.
