Throughout my career, I’ve sought to facilitate the use of written language to better inform, educate, and inspire. I’m known for being a supportive partner and an eagle-eyed detail editor and for my ability to read beyond the words in a draft to discern the author's meaning and intention and then to revise the text to make it more clear, concise, and compelling. My skills range from developmental editing and writing, to copyediting and proofreading, to research, fact-checking, and publications management. My PhD in English and my experience teaching writing to undergraduates expanded my expertise with written and interpersonal communication, but most of my work has been and is currently in the health professions (especially medicine and dentistry), data sciences, science policy, and environmental issues, with extensive experience working on academic journal articles, grant proposals, reports of various lengths, and books.
