A sense of connection and growth are important values of mine. This role allowed me to live my values on a daily basis, primarily by:1. Supporting Australian Diplomats, Defence Personnel, and their families to develop connections and create a sense of belonging in their new home, and 2. Supporting the development of locally engaged staff through a strategic HR review and development of the Embassy's learning and development program.

Leaving the "best job in the world" was a big call... and a leap of faith. A leap that landed me on a 12 month VSA assignment in Dili, where I had the privilege of mentoring CCI-TL staff to develop and improve organisational management systems and member services.

As well as the daily dose of cuteness, it was my absolute pleasure and privilege to work with some of Wellington's most passionate conservationists. I loved the leadership aspect of my role, and gained immense satisfaction from the challenges and rewards that came with building a high-performing team. Just as rewarding was delivering on the Zoo’s community and sustainability objectives. I am proud of the role I had in leading an environmental education program in partnership with a well-known New Zealand business to give thousands of children from low-income communities the chance to visit the Zoo for free. I was delighted to receive a Community Hero Award for this project at the end of 2014.
